由北京外国语大学国际组织学院与联合国训练研究所共同打造的“国际发展项目”（BFSU-UNITAR International Development Programme）系列讲座，将于10月19日（周三）正式开讲。这是北外国际组织学院与联合国训练研究所的第三次合作，基于前期师生反馈与课程效果，本期我们对课程设置进行了进一步优化。该项目系列讲座由五个模块构成，每个模块包含四场讲座，将围绕联合国系统与职业发展、国际组织领导力、多元文化下的交流与沟通、联合国可持续发展目标（SDGs）等主题展开。项目旨在为有志进入国际组织工作的同学搭建高质量的学习与交流平台，与供职于联合国系统及其他国际组织和海外一流高校的专家、学者共同探讨国际治理领域的热点问题，提升学生参与全球治理和国际组织工作所需的专业素质，为学生提供针对性的指导。该系列讲座兼具专业性与实践性，将进一步开阔学生的国际视野，加深学生对各自专业领域和国际组织工作的了解，为其日后进入国际组织实习与工作奠定坚实基础。

10月19日，国际发展项目本学年第一场讲座将正式开讲。北京外国语大学党委副书记、副校长贾文键教授，联合国助理秘书长、联合国训练研究所所长Nikhil Seth先生将出席开班仪式并为国际发展项目致词。第一模块第一讲具体信息详见预告，后续讲座信息将在北京外国语大学国际组织学院微信公众号陆续公布,欢迎对国际组织工作与联合国研究感兴趣的同学扫描下方二维码报名参加讲座。

因讲座座位限制，收到报名信息后，项目负责老师将根据报名先后顺序发送讲座链接和会议密码，额满为止。对于全程参与五个模块学习的同学，将在系列讲座结束后获得北京外国语大学和联合国训练研究所联合颁发的项目证书，报名参加讲座的学生请留校内邮箱。

Ms. Leila Benkirane has 20 years of experience in international law in the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs (New York-HQ) where she performed functions relating to Treaty Law and international peace and security, and provided interpretation of the UN Charter and rules of international public law. She also performed Legal Advisory role in several UN peace operations such as Cambodia, Haiti, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Middle East, Kosovo and Afghanistan. Furthermore, Ms. Benkirane has 10 years of experience in management in the Office of the United Nations at Geneva (UNOG). At UNOG, she fulfilled managerial roles as Chef de Cabinet (2003-2005) by maintaining, among others, liaison with civil society, and by managing the proper implementation of UN policies. As Chief of the Publishing Service (2005-2013) of the Division of Conferences Management at UNOG, she administered the human, financial and material resources of the Service and formulated general policies concerning the operations of the four sections and their relationship with other Services, UN bodies and Agencies.

Abstract

The United Nations is part of the UN system, which, in addition to the UN itself, comprises many funds, programs and specialized agencies, each of which have their own area of work, leadership and budget. The programs and funds are financed through voluntary contributions; the Specialized Agencies are independent international organizations funded by both voluntary and assessed contributions. The UN coordinates its work with these separate UN system entities to achieve its goals.

The expert will share her outstanding expertise in explaining the details of the UN Charter: the founding document of the UN. It was signed on 26 June 1945, in San Francisco, at the conclusion of the United Nations Conference on International Organization and came into force on 24 October 1945. Since the UN's founding in 1945, the mission and work of the Organization have been guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter, which has been amended three times in 1963, 1965, and 1973. The UN Charter is an instrument of international law, and UN Member States are bound by it. It codifies the major principles of international relations, from sovereign equality of States to the prohibition of the use of force in international relations.
