Dai Dongmei

French Language Teaching French Studies

Professor Dai Dongmei devotes herself to French language teaching and French studies and is the dean of the Faculty of French and Francophone Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). She holds degrees from BFSU (BA & MA in Literature), Sciences Po Paris, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Master in Diplomacy) and Paris 3 Sorbonne-Nouvelle University (PhD in History, obtained under a joint degree program with BFSU). Teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, she focuses her research on French language teaching and French studies and has published over 40 academic papers in the two fields. She was a principal co-translator of the Chinese version of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as well as of the French version of Understanding Xi Jinping’s Educational Philosophy. She serves as the editor-in-chief of the journal Etudes Francophones and the deputy editor-in-chief of the publication Blue Book of France (Annual Report on Development of the French Republic).
