Professor Tan Jia is an associate professor at Faculty of French and Francophone Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). Her research focuses on Second Language acquisition, French Language Teaching and Assessment. She began studying at the Department of French, BFSU in 1996, graduated with a Master’s degree and joined the faculty in 2003. In 2011, she received a PhD in Linguistics from Paris Nanterre University (Paris X). She is co-editor of the French (Revised Edition) 1: Synchronized Exercise Book (Le Français Cahier d’exercises) and an editor of several textbook projects including the French DELF High Score (Préparation à L’examen du DELF) series and the “New Classics French” (En route) series. She is the author of Acquisition of Spatial Expressions by Chinese University Students of French: A Longitudinal Study. She currently teaches second-year undergraduate intensive French reading courses and offers a course in Practical French Grammar. She has received the Chen Meijie Award for Elementary-Level Foreign Language Teaching at BFSU multiple times.
